How can we forget the TIME magazine article from February 13, 2018, citing a recent study in the American Journal of Infection Control, where experts concluded the following pertaining to hotel bathrooms: “flushing a toilet can send contaminants flying not only on the toilet seat, but also onto the floor and the back of the toilet (more than 80% of the time), the wall behind the toilet (nearly 40% of the time), the flush handle (22% of the time) and the toilet paper dispenser (17% of the time).”
There are countless other studies showing the vastly underwhelming cleanliness typically seen in hotel bathrooms. Still believe your hotel’s bathrooms are clean? Buy a black light, go into a vacant ready room, turn off the bathroom light, close the door, and let the black light show you just how dirty the bathroom really is.
As a hotel developer, owner, or operator, for the first time ever, you have the opportunity to create a genuine point of difference versus your competitors, while at the same time reducing labor costs.
